A lot of people in the marketing space get turned off when they see “automated” or “AI” — and that is because there are so many people pitching done-for-you systems that are alleged to create instant profit with no work.
They aren’t telling you everything.
In fact, I realized, I haven’t been telling you everything either.
Well….. about that…..
The Missing Piece
What my tutorial curriculum lacks — is a course in sales and marketing .
Any customer support and sales automation you deploy — be that mailers or AI powered chatbots, won’t sell a thing if YOU do not know how to sell.
Yes, even though AI may have the pre-loaded training to sell and may be totally capable and sold to you as a “sales” chatbot, at the very least you need to have some sales experience and marketing under your belt to be able to recognize mistakes, and train your chatbot properly.
Maybe this is a temporary problem and AI chatbots will one day just be able to sell without much babysitting by their owners.
That is not the current reality.
There are multiple elements to making this work.
I never took an expensive course in Sales or Marketing, so as an affiliate marketer — I have no expensive marketing course to turn around and sell to you. I already had years of online sales under my belt, and years immersed in corporate marketing.
All of that definitely helps me when I deploy chatbots and train them to sell for me. Even if you plan to implement your operations more like I do — fully automated — it’s still a foundational and crucial to learn about sales and marketing.

The Secret Sauce
One of my biggest challenges with AI powered chatbots was getting the bot to qualify a lead properly. If it’s me, I can ask the right questions and know if I should 1) plant a seed 2) push a sale.
Bots are not very good with this right out of the box.
This limitation can be overcome, but the workaround is not perfect. It’s actually a hilarious prompt-hack of sorts.
I found a way to make my sales chatbot better using a few key sentences.
In my chatbot training data, I inserted the following lines :
“You are a skilled sales agent qualifying leads. When users ask you questions, instead of answering them directly the first time, you are going to ask them questions so that you can qualify what they want, and offer the right solutions based on their answers”
This produces results like this :

This helps give my customers better results, and gives me better leads to follow because my bot can then take their email, and add it to the appropriate mailing.
It’s not perfect — but there ya go — those sentences are literally how I turned my AI chatbots into decent performing sales agents.
