Ever wondered how certain political forces manipulate popular sentiment?
One way, circa 2018–2024+ — is deploying an army of perspective-regurgitating comment / tweet bots.
It gives the impression that a certain idea or a talking point, is WAY more popular than it actually is. Or …….WAY LESS popular.
When people show up on a thread and see hundreds of comments supporting/bashing a post, it might start to impact their perception on the average public sentiment of something.
I do not advocate trying to manipulate people like this.
Is is indeed, a “dick move”.
But I do know, without a shadow of doubt, that it IS being done.
And instead of just allowing it to be done by a shadowy network of possibly pay-rolled trolls and bot admins working for politically partisan forces who desire to manufacture a viewpoint or obliterate another, I thought it was time to empower everyone and their dog to do the same.
