What I’ve Never Understood about Hiroshima.

Think about it….

Think about it….

Many people will jump out of their seat and name call, refute, etc — when you suggest that the atomic bomb didn’t have to be dropped the way it did.

“But we ended the war!!!”

“We saved millions of lives!”

Why exactly?

“We put the fear of god into them!”

“One look at the destruction and that’s all she wrote!”

“We needed to show them how easily they could be wiped off the map if they didn’t surrender”.

Ok. If that’s true, and we can credit the size of the bomb and the sheer terror it would create…..

Couldn’t we have detonated it off-shore in view of Japan, not directly on civilian populations, and still have scared them right into surrender?

Why or why not?
