Online Income with Virtual Wine Tasting

One particular online income avenue with enormous opportunities : hosting virtual wine tasting events.
Yes! You heard that right!
Ok, so while I haven’t done this one personally because I am a Mead person, I stumbled on this by seeing invites to a remote wine event during covid, and I wanted to share the idea.
Making money and enjoying fine wine can be delicately intertwined, if you play your cards right.
The art of earning income by hosting virtual events begins with identifying your passion, and in this case, it’s all about wine. But you can really apply this same idea to beer, liquor, cigars, you name it — anything where a connoisseur taste can be cultivated and find its audience.
With a love for wine tasting, you can create an income stream by sharing your expertise, passion, and providing an avenue for wine lovers to network, learn, and enjoy a good bottle of wine together virtually.
The first step to earning passive income is setting up your virtual platform.
The cost of setting up can be negligible, as there are many free platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Threads, or even Zoom.
Once you’ve chosen your medium, it’s time to come up with a plan for building your online presence and gathering an audience.
1. Partner with wineries to promote wines via video.
At first, until your channel grows, in good faith buy samples and test them live, giving your opinions and building your crowd.
After you have their attention, ask for a partnership. It’s entirely possible you will receive free wine for you to review on your channel, and they might even be able to engage your customers. The goal is to drive business to these sellers.
But you might also end up with a lifetime supply of free wine. You have been warned.
2. Ask for a referral commission relationship
You can create affiliate partnerships with wineries or wine sellers, earning commission on every bottle of wine purchased through your event!
This can sometimes be accomplished with a simple coupon with your online website name.
If you are called “Wine Lovers Unite” — that can be the name of your coupon.
The winery would give a small discount to your audience, driving business to their winery/store, and driving traffic to your website.
I have no idea what the percentage arrangement should be, you would need to negotiate that.
Perhaps you get 5% of every sale, or 10%, or more.
It has to work for both the winery, and you.
So it may be a different arrangement with each winery.
3. Engage Your Audience with Giveaways and To-Buy Lists
You can schedule your meet up or show so that viewers can “tune in” at a particular time, and you could collaborate with local wine stores to provide a list of specific wines that participants can purchase prior to the event!
Offer giveaways and come up with contests!
Another exciting idea is to team up with a sommelier who can give detailed insights about wines being sampled.
It’s important to note that earning income doesn’t mean tasks have to be difficult or drudging.
Make it fun!
Planning engaging, informative, and fun virtual wine tasting events require time, knowledge, and a push of creativity.
However, once you’ve set the wheels in motion and built a loyal participant base, the rewards can be bountiful.
Start it in your free time, and build it to become your bread and butter!
4. Don’t forget to sell merch!
Apart from monetizing your channel or charging membership only video fees, other income streams can be generated from these events.
I also recommend using Print on Demand services like Printify to create fun shirts and apparel, and other goods.
With Print on Demand, you do not have to pay to get started. You do not keep stock. When a customer orders an item from your website, it is made and shipped by Printify.
You do need a website, or a platform to connect Printify to.
Etsy is free, as is Ebay, just to get started.
Printify offers custom stemless wineglass which might make a fun way to promote your brand!
In conclusion, the potential to earn online income by hosting virtual wine tasting events is colossal.
Even more impressive is the fact that you can start this journey with minimal upfront costs.
As long as you have a mobile device or computer, are knowledgeable and passionate about wine, and you can plan, organize and execute exciting and engaging events, the sky is the limit.
On your end, it offers a rewarding income stream and the opportunity to enjoy your love for vino.
So why not take your love for wine to the next level and host your first virtual wine tasting event?
Here’s to earning and toasting! Cheers!
Thank you for reading!
Until next time….
Onward and Upward Everybody!
