Some of you may know — I have a youtube channel, and when I make new videos, I will transcribe them, turn them into blogs, and post them here.

I started my Medium channel this way, converting my YouTube videos over to blog format, then editing them a bit, adding images, etc.

The software I am using is called Blogify.

What Blogify Does Well:

The way we speak in videos is often NOT the same way we speak when writing blogs. Blogify not only transcribes our videos, it changes it up completely and editorializes the speech so it sounds appropriate for an article/essay/story. (Or whatever tone you choose)
SEO friendly output. Huge. Lots of blogs get shuffled down because they just aren’t formatted in a way that the crawlers will parse well. This helps big time.

Ok, it does more WAY than that, but those are my two favorite things!

I’m kind of on the fence about generating blogs from other people’s content….

So far, all my content has been generated from my own videos.

But….. this is the way to do it correctly, if you are going to do it.

Always credit your sources and get their permission. Building-in the option to automatically link back to the origin source will likely only be appreciated by the original creator.

If you are an affiliate of the platform you are promoting, you likely already have limited permission to share certain content for the purposes of promotion, including tutorials, etc, but you need to make sure this is allowed. Terms for different affiliate platforms are not identical.

I am thinking of transforming more advanced instructional content for some of the platforms that I use into engaging stories.

Taking the documentation itself and using the “Storyteller” tone to filter and re-combobulate it.

It creates interesting output.

Which brings me to the last part of my review here…..

What Blogify Doesn’t Do Well:

Pass AI detection. I highly recommend editing the content a bit and making it yours after it is generated. This is the way you can ensure that the content is “web ready”.

I transcribe my youtube videos, but then I go back and change it to conform to my writing style, adding things that make it more me like jokes, silly images, phrases that I say, tags that I use, etc.

It is a bit lame that my own videos transcribed with AI, come back as AI generated and would be demoted. It’s still my own content!

So be it — in order to get it to be passable so algorithms don’t demote it, I have to change the content enough of it to pass AI detection. While leaving the formatting and select keywords in tact, so the SEO optimization stays happy.
