Did You Know That the APR % on Crypto Trading Bot Stats are Meaningless and Should Be Ignored??
Don’t pay attention to those, seriously.
I can’t help but notice that I see some crypto enthusiasts posting on social media about their crypto bot successes and specifically highlighting the estimated APR from their crypto trading bot app.
Then I realized that I had also never explained this, and it might be confusing some people.
Please understand, I LOVE to see people having success with bots and being enthusiastic about it. I am not trying to rain on your parade if you have made posts like that.
When I first started my first bot, I saw that number and got excited.
Until I realized what it’s actually doing.
LYING CONSTANTLY.
Lmao.
Unless that bot has been open and trading for an entire year, those estimates mean exactly JACK SH#T!!!
Why?
Because it’s calculating that number based on a very erroneous assumption.
What is that assumption, you may ask?
That the bot will perform exactly as it is RIGHT NOW, for the rest of the year, without ANY deviation.
There is basically sub-zero chance of that happening.
Usually — this kind of calculation is appropriate for staking, or other means of profit that have a CONSTANT APR or have a variability that is more in the range of a few percent.
For trading bots, looking at that value - especially during the first few weeks of operation - is less than worthless.
The ONLY time it can even possibly be accurate is when you hit the 1 year mark and it’s basing it’s number on an actual year of activity, and even then it’s not accurate due to the WIDE variability of bot performance in different market conditions.
The Martingale bots I like to run, they can give some pretty wild APR estimates.
If my bot performs very well in the first few hours, it might estimate something like 1300% APR.
Shhhhhh.
Come Closer…..
Wanna know a secret???
I WILL NOT BE GETTING 1300% APR.
(screams into your ear, making you jump)
From my 1.75 years of experience running these particular bots, my first year gained around 250%, and I am on track this year to clear 220–230%, but because the market is truly NOT predictable, I could get more, or I might get less, but I definitely do NOT expect anything close to the wild estimates of a freshly started trading bot.
