Christopher Morton: The Nichest Niche; Capiche, Nietzsche?

My name is Christopher Morton.
I’m a Texas cactus now growing in Washington’s rich volcanic soil. Do not overwater.
Occultist, Rare Book Collector/Dealer, Lucid Dreamer, and sometimes a contrarian, I am a discordian at heart, lacing deadpan humor and absurdism into anything my mind/pen touches. I love highly individualized humans, animals, nature, and all things related to music. That is a shapshot of “me”, but that is not really “my niche”.
My true niche is…. drumroll…… not working.
No, you probably need to re-read that.
My niche works just fine.
It’s Me that doesn’t work.
Ok, ok……my niche is actually Automation.
Of anything and everything.
I am technically unemployed, but I am earning far more than I ever did in my former career. (Enterprise tech support). I’d consider myself to be “Self Employed”, but that was a few years ago, back when I was working 40+ hours running a business from my garage. Now I spend a few hours a week making videos, and tending to the tasks of business that bots and automation cannot handle (yet).
What exactly does this bozo do?
I run several online shops, but only pay attention to them for a few hours a week. Once my automations are set up and running, I look the other way and only respond to 5 alarm fires. The last time I answered a customer question personally was over 3 weeks ago.
I run a cannabis cigar tools business that 3D prints cigar molds, I run crypto trading bots, two ebay stores, and a print on demand website.
I have multiple YouTube channels and offer free software tutorials showing people how to automate with integration platforms like Make.com, and Wondr AI.
My primary objective was to make every source of income BEND to my Lifestyle, rather than have my Lifestyle bend to my sources of income.
A lifestyle-oriented-income goal-setting niche is probably the best way to frame what I write about here on Medium.
I also sprinkle some variety into the mix by writing social commentary, political commentary, book reviews, and anything else I find interesting. I try to make writing about automation and day trading with bots less boring by lacing my own ridiculous dark sense of humor into it.
Sometimes it confuses people.
I smile.
